An Abbreviated and Biased Biography of Meg
by her daughter

Meg Hogan Campbell was born Margaret Shelly Hogan in 1950. She grew up in Macon, Georgia with her mother Jane, father Wallace, sister Kris and brother Cole.

Meg attended the University of Georgia, Wesleyan College, and Mercer University and attained bachelors' degrees in both Art and English.

She met and married Marion Lee Campbell while working at the Banner Herald Newspaper in Athens, Georgia and at 35, she gave birth to her only child, Hannah March Campbell. Three years later they moved to Macon, Georgia to be closer to Meg's family.

For almost a year, the family lived in a small cabin on Meg's mother's property before buying a house on Desoto Place where Meg has lived ever since.

Meg worked in the basement of her home for several years before joining a studio group on Napier Avenue including Becky Posnack, Joan Hatcher, Jane Salter, and others. After multiple break-ins and thefts years later, Meg moved to a studio in Payne city along with Joan Hatcher and Kathy Murphy, a former student.

The group had several shows and joined in on the open gallery nights in the area. Unfortunately, the studio was again robbed. Meg decided to move her studio back home to Desoto place in order to simplify her affairs and invest in a gas kiln.

Sue Quaack, a talented handy-woman, is currently constructing a studio for Meg in her backyard. Meg is continuing her work in the basement until the studio is completed.
